Overview
Research Overview
Dr. Todd J. Swick is a Board-Certified Neurologist and Sleep Specialist. He has been involved in the Sleep Medicine field since the early 1980’s. We conduct research studies at both the Houston and Katy Locations. Participation in these studies is completely voluntary with no monetary cost to you if you qualify. Some studies provide compensation for time and travel.

Clinical Research Experience
Dr. Swick has conducted over 30 clinical trials in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. We have a dedicated, full-time Clinical Research Department staffed by Certified Research Coordinators and Certified Nurse Practitioners with Investigator Research training.

We have many years of experience in treating patients with neurological disorders including Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, migraines, and epilepsy. Additionally, our research includes sleep disorders such as insomnia as well as adult and pediatric studies for narcolepsy and obstructive sleep apnea. We take pride in our diligence to Good Clinical Practices and adherence to FDA regulations.

Participation
Clinical Research studies have specific guidelines stipulating who can participate. Factors that allow someone to participate in a research study are called inclusion/exclusion criteria. In addition to inclusion/exclusion, a research professional will take a medical history from you to determine your eligibility. It is important that you be honest when disclosing current and past health problems, as this information is used to identify appropriate candidates and keep them safe. Anyone entering a clinical trial is required to sign a consent form indicating that they understand what will happen to them during the study.
